If you get, Give. If you learn, Teach!

(1) Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. (2) For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, (3) how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, (4) God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? Hebrews 2:1-4
We don’t mind serving God . . . until we do. It’s easy to do what’s right when it’s what we want to do. But what about when God asks us to do something we don’t want to? That is when our own will gets in the way . Do you argue with your spouse , friends , family , God ?  Are there things in your life you flat out refuse to do or say either because of stubbornness or fear that you might be taken the wrong way . That things thought or spoken may sound crazy, the IT does not matter mentality .Morality is lost in the end times .  I /we do not matter regardless of morals ?

“The only prescription for morality is this: Remember that every woman could have been your mother, every girl could be your daughter. Remember that every man could have been your father, every boy could be your son. When it comes to matters of the heart, that’s all that needs to be kept in mind, always, at all times. Whatever form of hurt you cause, will echo in your children one day. Whatever form of judgments you make, must be held up against the condition of your father or your mother. When this is done— one sees that there is no room to judge and that there is no room to hurt, another.”

I have been undergoing a rough time because false ministers and false teachers are in the church, and like me , they also have to fight off the pressures from the universe to conform. It takes great effort to resist both in the church and out in the universe . When there are problems among us, it is tough. When we must also resist all the downward pulls outside in society, it is a difficult, sore trial. Thus, as a minister I PRAY and speak and even use particularly strong language to motivate others to stand up, face the problem, give it their all, and vanquish it.

Perhaps some of the details are different; the deception has taken a somewhat different form as social media and naysayers seem to speak out of fear (facts examined appearing real ) Truth is lost in reprints , Trump calls it fake news .

However, there is enough similarity that warnings here, as well as in the books of Peter, John, and Jude, if you read them they make a lot of sense. Certainly the results, the fruit of false teaching, are the same: apostasy, falling away, confusion, distrust (especially of those who have been given a measure of authority, the ministry), scattering, and disunity. The apostles, then, are speaking to us.

The Bible is filled with stories of people who argued with God. They disobeyed Him in stubborn and arrogant ways. King Saul is a great example. He once pleased God and led a nation for Him, but when David was selected as his successor, Saul tried to kill God’s chosen king. Samson and Jonah didn’t do much better. They served God faithfully . . . until they didn’t. Samson revealed the secret of his strength, and Jonah thought that God was wrong to offer mercy to a city that had cursed Him. One ended up imprisoned and the other in the belly of a great fish.

All of them were happy to serve God when it was good for them. It has not been good for me . I have been made out to be someone I am not and never will be . In retrospect it only proves out the gospel .

Not much has changed over the centuries. Some people still serve God that way. God asks them to attend church on Sundays, pray before meals and put a fish bumper sticker on their car? Sure. They’re happy to do that. But if God asks them to give up their Saturday to help the poor, donate some extra money to a Christian ministry or be kind to someone they don’t get along with, they’ll turn and run as fast as they can.

Serving God requires sacrifice. It will look different for each of us, and none of us will do it perfectly. Our pride and our comfort get in the way.

But there’s good news. Even if we’ve disobeyed God, when we seek His forgiveness, He gives it. Freely. Like the Prodigal Son, we are welcomed home the moment we turn to Him. He reminds me to Focus on my work. Do what you are great at. Don’t compare yourself to others and or waste time criticizing the lives and work of others. Do what matters most to you and make a difference doing that.”

King David knew that first hand. That’s why he penned the words in Psalm 86. He knew what it was like to have the Lord’s favor. He knew how it felt to turn his back on God. But when David asked for mercy, God was “so ready to forgive.” People may be fickle, but God is not. His love is always available to us.
